Low sheen is usually the sheen level that we recommend for washable walls in a normal living environment. Solver Maxiwash Flat is lightly washable but tends to mark easily in high ware areas.

I don’t know if the old paint on my skirting boards is oil based or Water based. How do I find out?

If you rub some methylated spirits onto the paint, using a cloth that is a very different colour to your skirtings, then if the old paint is water based, you will notice some colour come off and onto the cloth.

I have just had the ceiling replaced in a bedroom, do I need to undercoat it?

New plaster board (Gyprock) is very porous and usually has the joints between the boards flushed and sanded smooth. An undercoat both seals the porosity and creates an even texture that helps hide the flushing joints.
